The band won first place in WUMF’s Battle of the Bands in 2025\, and has been refining their live performances with evolving set lists and extended jams to craft a distinctive and unforgettable experience at each show. Following the release and subsequent tour for their last album\, Nothing In Specific\, they hit the studio and began work on a second project\, Canis Minor. The band is touring New England this summer to support their sophomore album\, and their shows are sure to be better than ever before.

DESCRIPTION:ArtsFarmington is pleased to present the DaPonte String Quartet with guest artists\, Edwin Barker and Yuri Funahashi. The concert will be in the Nordica Auditorium\, of Merrill Hall\, at the University of Maine at Farmington on Thursday evening\, June 4th\, at 7:00pm.  Tickets can be bought online at artsfarmington.org or at the door. The suggested adult ticket price is $25.  The concert is free for UMF students. It is also free for youth 18 and under through our Arts Inspire Youth program. \nThe DaPonte String Quartet is proud to present a special concert event featuring acclaimed bassist Edwin Barker and pianist Yuri Lily Funahashi in a program celebrating two pillars of thechamber music repertoire: Antonín Dvořák’s Bass Quintet and Franz Schubert’s beloved “Trout”Quintet. \nThis unique collaboration brings together six exceptional musicians for an evening that highlights the richness and versatility of the quintet form. Dvořák’s Bass Quintet\, a rarely performed gem\, showcases the composer’s lyrical warmth and rhythmic vitality\, enriched by the sonorous depth of the double bass. With stilt dancers\, paper maché beasts of all sizes\, and a riotous brass band\, The Upside Down World Circus is an urgent spectacle of protest and celebration. Performance will take place in the Emery Community Arts Center\, Thursday\, Sept. 10\, at 7 p.m.\, doors open at 6:30 p.m. \nTickets: $10-$25 suggested donation with no one turned away for lack of funds; free for UMF students. Advance tickets available beginning Aug. 4th at Up Front & Pleasant Gourmet (cash only). Up Front & Pleasant Gourmet is located at 157 Front St. in Farmington\, ME; Open Tues.-Fri: 10am-5pm\, and 1st & 3rd Sat. of each month from 10am-2pm.  \nAfter each show Bread & Puppet will serve its famous sourdough rye bread with aioli\, and “Cheap Art” – books\, posters\, postcards\, pamphlets and banners from the Bread & Puppet Press – will be for sale.  \nThe Bread & Puppet Theater is a political puppet theater founded in 1963 by Peter & Elka Schumann on New York City’s Lower East Side. Now based in Glover\, VT\, the company regularly tours the country and world with tightly composed theater pieces as well as sprawling outdoor pageants. The internationally celebrated company champions a visually rich\, street-theater brand of performance art filled with music\, dance\, and slapstick elements.  \nBelieving that theater is a basic necessity like bread\, the company frequently brings its work to the streets for those who may not otherwise go to the theater. Its shows are political and spectacular\, with puppets often on stilts\, wearing huge masks with expressive faces\, singing\, dancing\, and playing music.
