Daniel Jackson
Biography
Daniel Jackson is an associate professor whose work connects mathematics, education, and technology. His interests include dynamical systems, algebra and geometry, and exploring tools like 3D printing and generative AI to enrich math teaching. He teaches courses including Calculus, Statistics, Math for Elementary School Teachers, Middle/Secondary Math Methods, Learning Theory for Middle and Secondary Education majors, and graduate seminars in mathematics education. His classes emphasize constructivism, project-based learning, and real-world applications, focusing on helping future and current educators build confidence and strong teaching identities. His research has appeared in Transactions of the AMS and other journals, and he frequently shares his work at regional conferences. Jackson finds his greatest reward in contributing to the success of his students and the learners they will teach. When he’s not in the classroom, he enjoys hiking in the Maine woods and spending time at the coast.
