Denisa Cundick
Biography
Denisa discovered her love of learning languages in high school and continues to pursue new linguistic challenges, most recently Japanese. This passion for language acquisition naturally led her to a BA in Linguistics, and while pursuing her MA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), she dedicated several years to teaching English as a Second Language to adults and young adults from diverse backgrounds in community and university settings. At UMF, she teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in linguistics, ESOL and first-year writing. In addition to teaching, she also works as an academic advisor and tutor in the TRIO Johnson Scholars Program and as a liaison in the Early College Program. Outside of work, she loves to travel with her family, work in her garden in the summer, and ski in the winter.
