Donna Karno
Biography
Dr. Karno is originally from Phoenix, Arizona and has lived in a number of different regions throughout the U.S. She teaches Early Childhood Education with a teaching and research focus of appropriate use of digital technology with early learners, specifically computational thinking and robotics. Since arriving at UMF in 2009, Dr. Karno has been involved in a number of state-wide policies and initiatives, including membership on the Steering Committee and the cognitive standards writing group for the current Maine Early Learning and Development Standards. She loves spending time with her family, that includes her husband, three daughters, two son in laws, and her two wonderful grandsons. Her hobbies include traveling with her husband, reading, building miniature houses, and Legos.
