Jon Hayes

With over two decades of experience in higher education, athletics administration, and coaching, this professional brings a diverse skill set in leadership, program development, and student success. Jon started working in the Admissions office for UMF in 2016. He currently serves as the Associate Director of Admissions. His responsibilities include office travel planning, applicant pool management, and coordinating key initiatives including expense and budget oversight. His role also includes staff supervision and serving as the primary liaison with the athletic department.His extensive background includes over 17 years of collegiate coaching experience, marked by significant leadership roles across various NCAA divisions. This includes his tenure as Head Coach of Men’s Basketball at the University of New England. Other coaching roles encompassed assistant and associate head coaching positions for men’s basketball at the University of Maine, Thomas College, Whitworth University, Colorado School of Mines, Hamilton College, and the University of Maine at Farmington.
