Biography

Professor Maybury has expertise in Social Cognition; Personality and Organizations (particularly aviation); Pet Attachment; and Research Methods. She leads the UMF Social Psychology Laboratory, which has produced several students who have pursued graduate study and research positions after graduating UMF.

Karol and her students have presented papers and posters at: the New England Psychological Association; the Psi Chi Journal; the Association for Psychological Science; COPLAC; Mainely Data; the American Psychological Association; and the Eastern Psychological Association annual conferences.

In her spare time she collaborates with Mantor Library Director Bryce Cundick; they have conducted numerous popular studies on cats, for both scholarly and popular audiences. Most recently, they developed the first cat intelligence assessment and a large scale analysis of cat color and personality..
