Biography

Leigh Ann Fish, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Early Childhood Education, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in early childhood, elementary, gifted and talented, and nature-based education. She is also a Maine Master Naturalist. Dr. Fish brings extensive experience as a public school educator, having served as an elementary teacher, gifted and talented specialist, and K–12 administrator. She previously held National Board Certification and served as board president of the Maine Association for the Education of Young Children (MaineAEYC). She currently serves on the governing board of the Maine Master Naturalist Program. Her professional interests include Reggio-inspired practices, nature-based education, and the role of museums and experiential environments as powerful spaces for learning, engagement, and interdisciplinary exploration.
