Michael Schoeppner
Biography
Professor Schoeppner studies the history of race, migration, and law, especially in the United States. He is currently working on his second book, a history of the invention of illegal immigration. His courses include the American Revolution, Civil War and Reconstruction, and American Legal History, among others. He also teaches courses in the Honors Program, most of which explore the representation of history in film, video games, and commemoration ceremonies. When not cheering on his Florida Gators or Chelsea Football Club, he enjoys playing volleyball, skiing, playing chess, and traveling.
