UMF’s Graduate Certificate in Administration prepares educators for leadership roles in schools with advanced administrative skills.

The University of Maine at Farmington’s Graduate Education Certificate in Administration is designed for practicing educators who are ready to take the next step in their careers. This program provides the knowledge and skills needed to pursue leadership opportunities in school administration, preparing participants to guide and support educational communities effectively.

To enroll, applicants must have at least two years of teaching experience. This ensures that students enter the program with a strong foundation in classroom practice, allowing them to connect their administrative studies with real-world educational experience.

Your Four-Course Path to the Graduate Certificate in Administration

If you do not complete the required four certificate courses and UMF’s course, SED 518  Special Ed Law (below), the Maine Department of Education may require you to complete other coursework to fulfill the PSEL Standards found in Chapter 115. Please check with the Maine DOE to verify what you need to meet your professional goals.
