A Guided, Flexible Path to Choosing Your Major
Our Undeclared Program is the ideal way to explore options if you’re not quite ready to declare a major at Farmington. Our advising and career team is there to help you in making a decision compatible with both your passions and career goals
Course schedules are created individually and are tailored for each student, allowing students to fulfill general education requirements while exploring interests.
Approximately 30% of the Undeclared students declare a major within their first year. Of those who persist in the program, approximately 80% declare before their fourth semester.
Yes, most students graduate in 4 years as long as they work closely with their advisor, receive passing grades, and declare a major within 2 years. There are some exceptions. Our retention rate is the same or better than the average retention rate at UMF.
No. The Undeclared Program is one of the larger groups of students at Farmington. There are also several students who begin college with a declared major but change that major as they progress through college. Some of these students will change to Undeclared (if they are early in their college career) to work with an advisor to find the best major fit for them.
