UMF’s $1,000 Annual Transfer Scholarship — For Every Qualifying Transfer Student

Whether you’re coming from a college in Maine or from out of state, you’re eligible. This scholarship is designed to support all qualifying transfer students—no matter where you’re transferring from.

  • Maine resident? ✅

  • Out-of-state resident? ✅

  • Transferring from a Maine college? ✅

  • Transferring from an out-of-state or community college? ✅

This isn’t a one-time offer—it’s a renewable scholarship, awarded at $500 per semester for up to 6 consecutive semesters, totaling $3,000 over three years. Best of all? No extra application is required—you’re automatically considered when you apply for admission.

To remain eligible, you simply need to:

  • Be enrolled in at least 12 UMF credit hours per semester

  • Maintain good academic standing

You Belong at UMF Scholarship — Designed for Maine Community College Graduates

Did you graduate from a Maine high school in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, or 2024? Have you been taking advantage of Maine’s free community college tuition program? If so, UMF has a scholarship just for you.

The You Belong at UMF Scholarship awards $1,000 to $4,000 per year — and it’s in addition to other transfer scholarships, including the Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Honor Society Scholarship.

Even better? It’s renewable for up to 6 consecutive semesters — that’s 1, 2, or even 3 years of continued financial support as you finish your degree at UMF.

Did you graduate from a high school in Franklin County, Maine? We’d love to welcome you back home — with free on-campus housing for your first year at UMF.

Through our Come Home to UMF program, if you:

  • Graduated from a Franklin County high school, and

  • Took time off after high school or are transferring after a semester or a year elsewhere

You’re eligible to receive FREE housing on campus for your first year — a savings of over $5,000.

It’s our way of helping you return to your roots and invest in your future — right here at UMF.
