Maine’s Student Loan Repayment Tax Credit

Maine offers a tax credit to help reduce the cost of your education after you graduate. Through the Maine Student Loan Repayment Program (formerly Opportunity Maine), eligible graduates who live and work in Maine may receive a state income tax credit based on their student loan payments.

Program details, eligibility, and benefits are set by the State of Maine and may change. For the most up-to-date information, we encourage you to review resources from the Maine Department of Education and the Maine State Board of Education.
