Scott Hall – South

Inclusive Living in a Connected Community

Scott Hall South is a mixed-themed residence hall offering both single and double rooms, providing flexible living options for a wide range of students. It’s also home to UMF’s Lavender Living Learning Community—a dedicated and affirming space for LGBTQ+ students to live in a welcoming and supportive environment that celebrates identity and inclusion.

As part of the Scott Hall Complex, residents of Scott South enjoy access to the large main floor lounge, a central gathering spot perfect for relaxing, socializing, or studying. Whether it’s shooting pool, playing board games, or collaborating on group assignments, the lounge helps foster a strong sense of community among students across Scott North, South, and West.

Support, Amenities, and Community Connection

Scott Hall South offers convenient amenities, including a large laundry room on its lower level and easy access to a full kitchen located in the connected Scott North. The hall is supported by a professional Area Director who fosters a positive residential experience through community development. Additionally, upper-class Community Assistants (CAs) help residents get involved, offering programs that support academic success, personal growth, and social connection.

Lavender Community — Inclusive, Empowering, Connected

The 3rd floor of Scott South is home to the Lavender Living Learning Community, a gender-inclusive space that celebrates and supports UMF’s LGBTQ+ students and allies. Inspired by lavender’s historical significance as a symbol of empowerment, this community fosters inclusion, safety, and connection. Students are encouraged to engage in floor programs led by Community Assistants that raise awareness, increase understanding, and create a vibrant, affirming space where everyone can thrive.

Inclusive vibes, flexible spaces, and a community that feels like home.
