Akim Zulu

Akim Zulu, a special education technician and teacher in Portland, Maine, brought decades of international teaching experience to his studies. After completing a certificate in education in Zimbabwe and teaching in South Africa for nearly 30 years, he moved to the U.S. and needed additional credentials. He enrolled in the fully online program at the University of Maine Farmington to continue his career in education. He valued how the program recognized his background, sharing that his prior experience was taken into consideration and made the process more accessible.
