“UMF is a breath of fresh air that helped me discover my passions, favorite people, and a better version of myself.”

Joanna Korasadowicz is a 2026 graduate of UMF’s Bachelor’s of Art Biology program with a pre-professional concentration. During her time at UMF she worked as a Chiropractic Intern, Science Tutor, and in UMF’s Marketing department. Her next step is to advance to Logan University’s Chiropractic program Joanna took a few moments to share some thoughts on prior to her graduation.

“I am so blessed to have met some of the most wonderful people here. So many people have helped and supported me through my journey and I could not be happier with how it turned out. I was initially drawn to UMF because I felt very welcome during my tour and summer experience. I made friends very easily and ended up joining Women’s Rugby that provided me with a great support system and outlet.

UMF is unique because of the beautiful town of Farmington and how walkable everything is! I love going for walks downtown and by the Sandy. There are so many outdoor activities to take advantage of, like Sugarloaf not even an hour away!

A few things I’m most proud of during my time at UMF:

  • Making an Allstars Rugby team my sophomore year, traveling to Texas with a team and winning 1st place!
  • Being club President and Captain of women’s rugby for two years
  • Being active in clubs, working multiple jobs, all while taking rigorous courses and maintaining a GPA above 3.5
  • Being a part of scientific research using zebrafish and pufferfish as models and gaining hands on lab experience

If I could tell UMF students one thing, I’d say: Get involved! Join a club (rugby)! Find people with similar interests and get to know them. Go to events on campus and get to know more people! Make sure to have a few close friends that can keep you accountable and be there for you. And make sure to prioritize self-care, you need to take care of yourself before you can worry about others!

UMF has helped me find my passions and follow them. It has been a great stepping stone to continue my journey towards becoming a Chiropractor!”
