UMF’s Mathematics program builds your skills in abstract thinking, analysis, and problem-solving through courses like calculus, logic, probability, and statistics.

Mathematics students have access to exciting opportunities for high-level undergraduate research right on campus, working closely with dedicated faculty mentors. Many have presented their findings at regional and national conferences and even published their work in peer-reviewed journals, showcasing the program’s commitment to hands-on learning and academic excellence.

The Learning Experience

Build a strong foundation in mathematical theory and quantitative reasoning through coursework in:

Interested in a Minor?

The Mathematics minor provides a strong foundation in calculus and upper-level mathematics, supporting analytical thinking and quantitative reasoning across a wide range of disciplines. Students develop core skills in calculus and advanced mathematics while applying mathematical concepts to their major field of study.

Complementary minors for mathematics students include Data Analytics , Economics, and Computer Science.
