Shape the Future: Study Public Policy at UMF

The University of Maine at Farmington’s online interdisciplinary bachelor’s degree in Public Policy prepares you to analyze policy problems and create, evaluate, and implement solutions at the local, state, and federal levels.

UMF’s Public Policy program prepares you to understand complex challenges, analyze policy decisions, and develop solutions that create meaningful change. Designed for professionals and aspiring leaders, the flexible online and blended format allows you to build expertise in policymaking while balancing your schedule.

Through an interdisciplinary approach, you’ll explore how laws, policies, and institutions shape communities and connect your interests to real-world policy issues. Coursework includes public policy, policy analysis, research methods, and statistics, with opportunities to focus on areas such as health care, education, human rights, climate change, and environmental policy.

In partnership with the Maine Municipal Association, the program connects students with practical insights from policy professionals and opportunities to learn across the University of Maine System.

Maine Municipal Association members receive a 10% tuition discount when pursuing a UMF Public Policy credential.
