The University of Maine at Farmington is excited to be the Franklin County host of the Maine Historical Society and partners’ statewide tour of the rare copy of the Dunlap Broadside of the Declaration of Independence.
This treasured national document will be on display in the UMF Emery Community Arts Center October 2 and 3, 2026. Members of the public are encouraged to Reserve your FREE TICKET here to see the document in person, learn about Maine’s role in the American Revolution, reflect on our founding principles and participate in the 250th celebration in deeply local and meaningful ways. Free and open to the public.
Printed in Philadelphia on July 4, 1776, just hours after ratification, this foundational document of the United States will be on tour to museums, libraries and organizations in all 16 counties in Maine between July and October.
