We’ve updated and upgraded our menus, facilities and quality — offering more variety, better convenience, a healthy emphasis on local, and something we call the “Cool Factor.” Conveniently located at the heart of campus in the Olsen Student Center, South Dining Hall is our primary campus dining hall.
We strive to keep pace with changing trends in dining — and place a specific emphasis on Maine-grown, locally-sourced food.
South Dining Hall: Campus Dining at Its Best
Located in the Olsen Student Center, South Dining Hall is UMF’s main dining spot, offering a diverse menu with a focus on fresh, locally-sourced food. We’ve partnered with Sodexo to incorporate more Maine-grown ingredients, especially seafood, exceeding our goal by sourcing 25% of our food locally.
UMF participates in The Maine Course program, committed to serving sustainably harvested foods, including 100% of our white fish from the Gulf of Maine. This ensures students enjoy fresh, healthy meals while supporting local fishermen and promoting responsible dining habits.
