Student Organizations

Created by Students, for Students

There’s more to college than taking classes, doing research, working your on-campus job, interning, and doing your homework. There’s this other thing we like to refer to as … FUN. Perhaps you’ve heard of it?

At Farmington, getting involved is easy — with a wide variety of student clubs and organizations, there’s something for everyone. Whether you’re into music, theater, sports, activism, or science, you’ll find a community that shares your interests.

And if you don’t see the club you’re looking for, you’re encouraged to start your own — just like many UMF students have before you. From student government to improv comedy, service groups to campus media, Farmington’s vibrant student life is shaped by the passions and creativity of its students.

Creative & Performing Arts

If you’re passionate about music, theater, dance, or performance, UMF has a wide range of student-run groups to get you involved. Join one of our a cappella groups like Clefnotes, Deep Treble, or Stranger Sings, or bring the laughs with the Lawn Chair Pirates improv troupe. Student Theatre UMF, Alpha Psi Omega (theater honors society), and clubs like The Vaudeville Club and Dance Team offer opportunities to perform, produce, and collaborate creatively. Whether you’re on stage or behind the scenes, there’s a place for you to shine.

Leadership, Service & Student Voice

Make your mark on campus by joining organizations that shape student life and give back to the community. Groups like Student Senate, Residence Hall Association, and Association for Campus Entertainment (ACE) empower students to lead, plan events, and make decisions that impact UMF. If you’re interested in service, Rotaract Club connects students with volunteer opportunities. And for those who want to engage in political discourse, College Democrats, Republicans, and Independents provide spaces for discussion and activism.

Interest-Based, Outdoor & Gaming Communities

From outdoor adventures to niche hobbies, there’s something for everyone. Explore the outdoors with the Farmington Outing Club or Mountain Biking Club, or dive into niche interests with groups like the Magic the Gathering Club, Nightmare Club, and Stitch & Bitch Club. Into storytelling or strategy? Join the Tabletop Gaming Club, Writer’s Guild, or Film Club. Prefer a mix of fun and fitness? Try Ultimate Disc, Swim Club, or Men’s and Women’s Rugby. No matter your interest, you’ll find a welcoming community to connect with.

Student life is powered by you — with clubs for every passion and new ones always popping up, there’s a place for everyone to get involved!
