What You Need to Get Into UMF

UMF wants you to take a solid, challenging high school curriculum—like AP and honors classes—to get ready for college.

Besides your grades and classes, UMF looks at your essay, teacher recommendations, and activities outside school.

  • You don’t have to submit SAT or ACT scores, but if you do, they’ll consider them. You can also choose not to send your scores.

If you want to major in Creative Writing, you’ll need to submit 12-14 pages of your writing samples.

Home-schooled students are welcome too, but may need to submit a HiSET test score.

UMF wants to see that you’re ready and able to succeed based on your classes, grades, and achievements!
