UMF Niche Direct Admissions

A Place to Thrive

A supportive community designed to help students thrive academically, socially, and personally.

The Niche Program at the University of Maine at Farmington (UMF) is a specialized initiative that provides students with the tools, guidance, and community support they need to successfully navigate college life. Focused on building independence and confidence, the program connects students with resources, mentoring, and opportunities that align with their individual goals.

Through workshops, peer connections, and personalized support, Niche fosters both academic and personal growth. Students in the program gain practical strategies for time management, study skills, and self-advocacy while also enjoying a safe, inclusive environment where they can build friendships and a sense of belonging. By blending structure with independence, the Niche Program empowers students to get the most out of their UMF experience.
