As an alum of Farmington Normal School, Farmington State Teacher’s College, or the University of Maine at Farmington, you belong to a vibrant network of individuals who carry the heart and values of this institution into communities near and far. Your experiences, memories, and contributions continue to shape the story of UMF, and your connection to Farmington remains a meaningful part of who we are today.

No matter where life has taken you, you are — and always will be — part of the Farmington family.

The University of Maine at Farmington’s annual Alumni Ski Day at Sugarloaf Mountain is more than just a winter getaway—it’s a beloved tradition that brings together generations of alumni for a day of skiing, snowboarding, and reconnection in the heart of the Maine mountains. Each year, UMF graduates from all eras gather at one of New England’s premier ski resorts to enjoy not only the thrill of the slopes but also the warmth of the UMF community.

This signature event offers outstanding value and a full day of experiences. Attendees receive a discounted lift ticket, access to Sugarloaf’s new T-Bar, a hearty buffet lunch, and exclusive admission to the UMF-only après-ski gathering in the Gondola Room at the Competition Center—an ideal setting to relax, catch up with old friends, and forge new connections. Whether you’re carving down the mountain or swapping stories by the fire, the sense of shared history and pride is unmistakable.

To make the weekend even more accessible, special lodging deals are available for UMF alumni and guests, turning Ski Day into a full-fledged mini reunion in the mountains. Whether you’re a seasoned skier or simply there to enjoy the scenery and camaraderie, Alumni Ski Day is a true celebration of Farmington spirit, community, and the enduring bonds that connect Beavers near and far.
